Guava is known as peyara/pearah or goyaa in Bangladesh. In English this organic product is additionally known and called apple guava. This is not our indigenous natural product. In Bangladesh district guava(peyara/pearah or goyaa) was initially presented by the Portuguese amid the seventeenth century. Initially guava(peyara/pearah or goyaa) is local to Mexico and Latin America that is tropical and sub tropical American area. Presently a days guava is viewed as an indigenous product of Bangladesh that develops and eaten everywhere throughout the nation. Its logical name is Psidium guajava. It fits in with Myrtaceae family and variety is Psidium.

It is an excellent example of a food prized in some areas of the world and allowed to go to waste in others. O.W. Barrett wrote in 1928: ";The jaks . . . are such large and interesting fruits and the trees so well-behaved that it is difficult to explain the general lack of knowledge concerning them."
